Sony Xperia U – The Smallest NXT Series Handsetgadget
Sony unveiled the NXT series during the Mobile World Congress 2012 (Barcelona, Spain). The NXT series includes the Xperia benchmark Xperia S, Xperia P and the Xperia U. But in this article, we will talk about the smallest NXT series by Sony the Xperia U. This is also the cheapest handset from the said NXT series. But do not let that fool, just because this handset is budget-friendly it doesn’t necessarily means that it is lacking in specs. For an affordable handset, this packs a 1GHz dual-core processor. Now, do you still think it’s cheap? I don’t think so.
Let us talk about the phone’s hardware. Yes, this handset may have the same design as its big brother and Xperia flagship the Xperia S, but this comes in a tiny or smaller chassis. You will also notice the use of plastic on this handset. But the phone’s back feels quite soft to the touch. This is also resistant to smudges and fingerprints. So if you easily sweat, don’t worry because your phone is safe.
This handset packs a 3.5″ LED-backlit LCD display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. You will also enjoy the phone’s 1GHz dual-core processor (NovaThor U8500) with Mali-400MP GPU. And it simply doesn’t stop there you will also get a whopping 512MB worth of RAM and 4GB worth of internal storage on this handset. You will also enjoy the phone’s 5MP camera with 720p video recording capability.
The phone’s display is quite bright and it boasts decent viewing angles. You can also invert the displayed image on this handset by simply tipping the phone to a certain point. Now that’s cool. You will also find a microUSB on this handset (left side). The phone’s power, dedicated camera, and volume rocker are found on the phone’s right side. There is also the phone’s 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone (top part). You will also find a second microphone on the bottom part of the handset.
Unlike its bigger siblings, the phone’s bottom cap is removable. You can also change it with different covers (Yellow, Black, White, and Pink). Again, that is cool and fun. Dress it up according to your mood for the day. You can also change the phone’s themes found in the phone’s Android settings. Mix and match both, and you will get a fun and lively handset whenever you receive a notification.
This handset may be the smallest in the brood of the NXT series, but it is powerful enough to compete with famous smartphones with dual-core processors. This is the smallest Xperia NXT series handset, this is the colorful Sony Xperia U.
